TRO SIGNAL BULLETIN 18 MAY 17
TRO Is Still Looking For A Home…
The Delta Cafe at 41st & Garnett is working out… somewhat… So, we are still looking for a new meeting location because we need something better.
We are looking for a restaurant (hams do like to eat and socialize) with a meeting room that can accommodate at least 2 dozen people (that’s about what our attendance is running lately), and where we are isolated from the noise of other customers (this is a must for conducting business and hearing presentations). We prefer the room to have a large screen TV or monitor that can be connected to a computer for program presenters, or a smooth white wall, or a wall where we can hang a sheet. Also, the basic menu should feature food that most people would enjoy, because not everyone likes every ethnic style.
If you know of a suitable location, please contact our Vice President Paul Young, KE5EHM, at email@example.com, or any club officer.
TRO Field Day Plans — Got Suggestions??
ARRL Field Day is fast approaching. It will be here sooner that you think, 24 -25 JUN 2017. The Executive Committee wants to know what the members want to do, or if anyone has suggestions for FD plans, so we have set Field Day Planning for this month’s program.
Suggested locations include Lake Bixhoma, the new Tulsa County Sheriff’s training facility, and Kiefer City Park. We have also been invited to join the RCWA at their location at the Claremore Elks lodge near the Rogers State University Campus. The TCSO facility has been eliminated, so we must look at other options. Do you know of a suitable Field Day location for the club? If so, come to the meeting and let us know, or send me a message with your suggestion.
We also need HF radios. We will have use of the Ham-Aid station, but that is the only one committed so far. Do you have a portable station you can bring out?
Tom Stroud, KD5OPH has been drafted as our cook, but we are still looking for members to bring out side dishes and desserts. What can you bring?
If you can’t come to the meeting on the 23rd, you can tell use the survey on the club’s Facebook Field Day event page, or you can send your responses, ideas and suggestions to WA5LVT@tulsahamradio.org.
